Terms of Use

Effective date: 17 April 2026 · Play The Future Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”)

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the RIVAL mobile application (“RIVAL”, the “App”) and related services provided by Play The Future Ltd (together, the “Services”). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use RIVAL.

Acceptance

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you confirm that you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal information. We may update these Terms from time to time; the “Effective date” at the top will change when we do. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, except where applicable law requires your explicit consent.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use RIVAL. The Services are not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow them to register.

The RIVAL experience

RIVAL is a free-to-play, live sports competition experience tied to football matches. You may answer prediction-style questions and participate in leaderboards and in-game mechanics (such as CHAOS Cards) for points, ranks, and in-app recognition. RIVAL is not gambling and does not involve staking or winning real money. At launch, we do not offer real-money prizes; any future promotions would be described separately and subject to additional rules and eligibility requirements.

Account

You may need to create an account using your mobile phone number. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must not share OTP codes or circumvent authentication. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a security risk.

Optional features may ask you to grant access to your device’s address book (for example, to find people you know who already use RIVAL). If you use those features, contact-derived information is processed as described in our Privacy Policy. You can use the App without granting address-book access.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may moderate content (including usernames and profile fields), remove material, reset scores or ranks, or restrict features where we reasonably believe there has been a breach of these Terms or a risk to the community.

Intellectual property

The App, its branding, software, text, graphics, and other materials are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App in line with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our materials without our prior written consent.

You retain rights in content you submit, but you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, and display such content solely to operate, promote, and improve the Services.

Third-party services

The App may rely on third-party platforms (for example, app stores, cloud providers, or messaging services). Your use of those platforms may be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

Disclaimers

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation; live features depend on connectivity, match schedules, and third-party data, which may be delayed or inaccurate.

RIVAL is an independent entertainment product and is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or sponsored by any league, club, or broadcaster unless we say otherwise in writing.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Play The Future Ltd and its directors, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Services or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Services in the twelve months before the claim (if any) or (b) one hundred British pounds (£100), except where liability cannot be limited under law (including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Play The Future Ltd from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Services, your content, or your breach of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our wilful misconduct.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the Services if you breach these Terms, if we discontinue the product, or for operational, legal, or security reasons. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive termination.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction for disputes, subject to any mandatory rights you may have as a consumer in your country of residence.
