Code of Conduct
RIVAL is built around live sport, fair competition, and fans playing together. This Code of Conduct sets out how we expect people to behave in the app and in any community features we offer (including chat, usernames, profiles, and in-game interactions). It applies to everyone who uses RIVAL.
Our standards
We want RIVAL to feel competitive, energetic, and safe. You should:
- Treat other players with respect, even when you disagree or compete hard.
- Keep banter good-natured — no personal attacks, pile-ons, or targeted harassment.
- Use accurate information in your account and follow our Terms of Use.
- Report behaviour that breaks these rules so we can look into it.
Unacceptable behaviour
The following are not allowed on RIVAL:
- Harassment, abuse, or hate. Including threats, slurs, discrimination, or hostility based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or other protected characteristics.
- Harmful or illegal content. Including glorification of violence, sexual content involving minors, or content that is illegal in the United Kingdom or your region.
- Spam, scams, and deception. Including unsolicited commercial messages, phishing, impersonation of RIVAL staff or other users, or attempts to manipulate others for gain.
- Cheating and integrity. Including exploiting bugs, using unauthorised automation, colluding to manipulate scores or leaderboards, or otherwise undermining fair play (see also our Terms of Use).
- Privacy violations. Including sharing someone else’s personal information without consent (doxxing).
Usernames and profiles
Your username, avatar, and any profile fields must comply with this Code and must not be offensive, misleading, or designed to evade moderation. We may require you to change them or remove them.
Reporting
If you see behaviour that violates this Code, please report it using the in-app reporting tools where available, or email us at conduct@playrival.app. Include as much detail as you can (for example, time, match or room, and what happened). We take reports seriously and will handle them as promptly as we reasonably can.
Enforcement
We may investigate reports and take action we consider appropriate, including warnings, temporary restrictions, removal of content, resetting scores or ranks, or permanent suspension of accounts. Serious or repeated violations may result in immediate suspension or a ban. Our decisions are aimed at keeping the community healthy; they are not a substitute for law enforcement where a crime may have been committed.
Changes
We may update this Code of Conduct from time to time. We will post the updated version here and adjust the effective date above. Continued use of RIVAL after changes means you accept the updated Code, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
